Ello Mates! Ello Luvs! My name is Jose Yanez, or Josey, as it were, so to speak, savvy? I began dressing up as Capt Jack for Halloween the year the first Pirates movie came out. I watched the movie and studied his mannerisms and dialect then I went down to Mill Ave to walk up and down and check out all the costumes. My costume was a hit! I couldn't walk very far without being asked to have my picture taken! I entered a costume contest at Fort McDowell the next year and ended up taking 2nd place for $1500! I was floored, literally. Since then I started getting asked to show up at birthday parties and get togethers as Capt Jack and have developed an "act" that includes jokes, improv, pirate games, such as Walk The Plank where kids are blindfolded and have to walk an imaginary plank drawn on the concrete and the object is to get as close to the edge without touching it or else you "fall". Closest to the edge wins a prize. Also Pin the Eyepatch on the Pirate or Pin the Flag on the Pirate Ship. Also I can play various "pirate" songs, mostly by Jimmy Buffet, such as, Pirate Looks at "30", and Chanson Pour Les Petits Enfants, where I invite the kids to join me by reading the lyrics off a poster board that I have, Kid Karaoke kinda, savvy? I also have a real karaoke machine that I can set up and let kids sing kid songs such as Under the Sea from the Little Mermaid.
